I too have a walker man. I also have been kicked in the teeth many times meself. What I do is give them little tests to see if they are worthy of getting to know like turning up on time and doing what they say they are going to do which is a rare thing these days and something which really pisses me off, why say something when you have no intention of doing it?

Anyway I'm more lonely than most though I prefer to call it being picky.

I second the "walkman" comment. My husband has one, but I can't figure out how to get his crappy music off it and good music onto it. So I keep using my walkman... CD walkman. I'm at least within the last 20 years.

Let's see:

What kind of tunes do you play?
Do you like variety?
and, how much memory do you have?

also, you're sweat proof right?

Hyphen Mama - no, sadly, no pink spandex tops yet. My vacation starts today, after working all night last night. And as soon as I have some java in me and a couple of smokes (sorry Lou), I'm off to the gym. Nothing will keep me from that place, it's the 'high road'. My purchase this payday will be those new sneakers, tomorrow. I'm all excited about it, I feel like a person who goes and does now, I feel all puffed up, I feel directed, driven...........and tired. BUT TO THE GYM I GO!

And I like that 'drink heavily' idea, it's a wonderful thought, if I could grab Witchypoo and head to your house, I'd join you.

As for inspiration - when it comes from within it's more empowering, self satisfying, ego boosting, blah blah blah. If I inspire you then there's a smile on my face for you. I hope you have an excellent relationship with your treadmill. Downsizing your body brings such satisfaction, I don't have the words to explain fully the sense of.........I don't know what to call it, that it does for you personally.

Exercise, if you become a slave to it, makes you feel just freaking great. The odd day when I don't feel like going, I pull that old Nike comercial logo out of my memory - Just Do It.

Lou - no worries, I always listen. And I'm smoking a ciggie as I type this - aren't I smug and cocky today. I have the ashtray on the left, a cup of joe on the right, and my laptop in the middle - my only problem at the moment is I need an extra pair hands. And now I'm bordering on Cocky Bitch, sorry Lou, I'm done being a smart ass.
If it makes matters any better, I do add a plasic filter to the ciggie, it traps a lot of the tar.

I've given up so many foods, given up sugar & salt, given up alcohol, have a diet that's 99% processed free food, taken up weight lifting as well as cardio, and cleaning up my debt. It's like I told the dietician when she mentioned quitting smoking, "I have a lot on my plate at the moment. If I give up cigarettes and coffee, there'll be a trail of dead bodies behind me"
The issue of quitting smoking isn't off the table, it's just not a consideration right now.
It will happen eventually, just not right now.

Christy - if I wanted the patch, it's available for free through work. I'm all or nothing about some things and smoking is one of them things. The patch may work well for people but I'm the type that quits if she's going to. Cold turkey.
I love turkey, roasted with thyme and lemon and served with buttered mashed potatoes, covered in gravy. Such fond memories of food. But my mind has a path of its own. Ah well.

About the smoking thing.....I'm a former smoker.

I don't think now is the time to give up nicotine. Might sabotage the weight loss.

But for your lungs, you might switch to the patch.

My trainer used to chew nicotine gum and he never smoked! (I did it for awhile, but it made me get arrhythmias....scary!)

Nicotine is not a bad drug, overall.

Is the patch or any other nicotine products covered by your socialized medicine thing in Canada?

Might be the best of both worlds, ultimately, if it was. Maybe only smoke on the weekends when you're partying with witchypoo, and use the products the rest of the week.

You know I love you, right? And I would never want to do or say ANYTHING to you that might upset you or piss you off. So I'm just going to ask you, in the nicest possible way, with as much love in my voice as I can muster, please, please think about not smoking?
